Jesus Christ – The Creator and Redeemer of All of God’s Creations

In Latter-day Saint theology, Jesus Christ is considered not only the Savior of this world but also the Creator and Redeemer of many other worlds. This belief is deeply rooted in the doctrine of the premortal existence of Christ, known as Jehovah, who was chosen and ordained to carry out the Father's plan as the Redeemer (Moses 4:2). The Book of Moses, part of the Pearl of Great Price, states, "And by the word of my power, have I created them, which is mine Only Begotten Son, who is full of grace and truth" (Moses 1:32-33). This scripture emphasizes Christ's role in the creation of many worlds, underscoring His divine authority and eternal purpose.

The Lord told Moses: “And worlds without number have I created; and I also created them for mine own purpose; and by the Son I created them, which is mine Only Begotten” (Moses 1:32–33). An 1832 revelation given to Joseph Smith and Sidney Rigdon and now canonized as Doctrine & Covenants 76 adds that “the inhabitants thereof are begotten sons and daughters unto God” (Doctrine & Covenants 76:22–24). In 1843, Joseph Smith gave a poetic summary and explanation of this vision that he and Signey Rigdon saw. Two stanzas read as follows:

And I heard a great voice, bearing record from heav’n,
He’s the Saviour, and only begotten of God—
By him, of him, and through him, the worlds were all made,
Even all that career in the heavens so broad,
Whose inhabitants, too, from the first to the last,
Are sav’d by the very same Saviour of ours;
And, of course, are begotten God’s daughters and sons.
By the very same truths, and the very same pow’rs (emphasis added).133

Indeed, it seems logical to suppose that, if Christ was involved in the creation of these worlds that he would continue to take part in the salvation of the future inhabitants of those worlds.

Latter-day Saint revelation about Jesus Christ and the nature of God expands our cosmos in ways that other religious simply do not even imagine.
